In an interview with TheNEHipHop, Wu-Tang Clan rhymer Ghostface Killah talked about the upcoming Wu reunion project A Better Tomorrow. There have rumors of tensions and delays, and Ghost says that the crew, while still focused on the project, isn't going to rush anything just to say they released an album.

"We've got plans to give the people another album," he said. "But we all decided, just because we came out in November in '93 don't mean that we have to drop in November [2013]. I would say, if the music is not right, let's not give it to the people until it's right. That's me. I don't want to rush nothin'. Then you start hearin' a bunch of bullsh*t. That's where I'm at with mines, though."

Socialite Working On A New Album
4:30PM ET May 22nd, 2013
Contributor : Chris G.
A Rocky Williform Company

Socialite Paris Hilton informed Showbiz411 that AfroJack will produce her upcoming album which will be released on Cash Money Records. She says that she's moving into a direction more associated with house music, as opposed to the Top 40 dance pop of her first and only album, 2006s Paris.

"This is a lot different than my first album," Hilton said. "It's really going to be house music."

She also has plans to DJ in Ibiza, Spain.

The news of her Cash Money deal comes seemingly out of the blue and the label has yet to explain the specifics or confirm that has inked a deal.

''I Think That I'm Rapping My A** Off''
6:00AM ET May 22nd, 2013
Contributor : Martin James
A Rocky Williform Company

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have garnered widespread popularity and widespread criticism for their oddball hit "Thrift Shop." The duo spoke to XXL about the backlash--in particular, a New York Times article that questioned the authenticity of the duo's music.

“I think that the dude who wrote that probably hasn’t listened to the whole album. When a song like ‘Thrift Shop’ becomes a part of popular culture and soccer moms are bumping it and 5-year-olds are singing, ‘This is f**king awesome,’ it’s really easy to go in with a scalpel and dissect it and scrutinize the sh*t out of it, Macklemore explained. “If it was somebody else who made the song, I’d probably do the same thing, particularly if it was two white dudes. But I still think ‘Thrift Shop’ is a really great record. I think that the beat’s slapping, I think that I’m rapping my a** off, and I think that it has a really catchy chorus, and those things came together and made a record that crossed over to pop.

“Or on the flip side of that is looking to make what is current, said Lewis. “That’s why I think somebody like Kanye is absolutely phenomenal, because he continues to come out with something that nobody else has and he redefines what the standard is to an acceptable hip-hop beat or an acceptable cadence or subject matter. It’s the reason why he is a trailblazer in the genre.

“When you see people who have longevity in this industry, it’s people who reinvented themselves. Jay-Z, although Reasonable Doubt is one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time, Jay-Z hasn’t made 15 Reasonable Doubts. Some people wish that he would, but people evolve, artists evolve, and music evolves, Macklemore added.

Rapper's Publishing Company Sues Over Ad Music
10:30PM ET May 21st, 2013
Contributor : Stephen Willis
A Rocky Williform Company

Eminem and his publishing company Eight Mile Style LLC have filed a lawsuit against Facebook for the unlawful use of the D12 song “Under The Influence. Facebook posted a Wieden + Kennedy ad that used music believed to be "Under the Influence." The ad was soon altered, but the lawsuit says that the hasty re-editing of the clip confirms that Facebook was aware of its infringement.

“The alteration of the Airplane advertisement was an admission that Facebook knew it had infringed on the Eminem/D12 Composition, states the lawsuit.

It also says that the ad agency mistakenly assumed that Dr. Dre produced the song.

“Counsel falsely and wrongfully alleged that Andre Young, professionally known as Dr. Dre, composed ‘Under the Influence,’ read the lawsuit. “Yet, a simple Internet search of the Eminem/D12 Composition would have revealed that ‘Under the Influence’ was composed by Marshall Mathers, III, and members of D12, including Denaun Porter, Von Carlisle, Ondre Moore, R. Arthur Johnson, and DeShaun Holton. Dr. Dre likewise did not produce ‘Under the Influence.’

''I'm A Competitor By Nature''
10:30PM ET May 21st, 2013
Contributor : Stephen Willis
A Rocky Williform Company

J. Cole isn't afraid of competing with Kanye West. The Roc Nation rapper caused a stir when he announced that he was moving up the release date of his sophomore album, Born Sinner, to June 18th--the same day that West will be releasing Yeezus.

"I'm not going to sit [here]... I worked too hard to come a week later after Kanye West drops an amazing album. It'd be like, 'Oh and J.Cole dropped too, a week later.' Nah," Cole told Billboard. "I'm going to go see him on that date. He's the greatest. So it's like, I'm a competitor by nature so it was instant, it wasn't even a thought."

"It's a definite statement about how I feel about my album, which is confident…At the same time, let's not forget this is Kanye West, said Cole. “He bets 100, 1,000, whatever the perfect is. His track record is flawless. I'm only expecting an incredible album from him.

Eve has no interest in any sort of "beef" with other female hip hop artist. In an interview with Complex, the veteran rhymer explained why she avoids silly confrontations on wax and admitted that she feels like the media is the main culprit in a lot of the feuding that goes on between lady rappers.

"I'd rather avoid beef than use it in my career," she said directly.

"The biggest misconception about female rappers today is that we're trying to take another person's light and we're all competing against each other. I hate drama. If you have a problem with me, let's talk about it woman to woman. Media pitting female artists against each other is the dumbest thing in the world. I don't indulge in that sh*t."

''You Don't Really Know What the F**k You're Reading''
4:30PM ET May 21st, 2013
Contributor : Stephen Willis
A Rocky Williform Company

Talib Kweli spoke to VladTV about hip-hop's ever-constant obsession with the Illuminati. The Brooklyn rhymer said that he's been reading about global conspiracies for decades, but the constant focus on a secret society is distracting people from very real issues.

"What I quickly realized from reading all those books back then is if you do not know the history of the author, then you don't really know what the f**k you're readin'," Kweli says. "So a lot of the Illuminati stuff and anti-Illuminati stuff comes from right-wing, conservative, Christian think tanks, John Birch Society types who felt the need to demonize Freemasons and demonize these groups at the beginning of America. So, it's all religious stuff."

"The Illuminati was a real organization and quite possibly could be a real organization now, but the amount of power that people allow it to have on their lives is based on them," he continues. "We have the International Money Fund, the World Bank. We have rich families that are conspiring and getting together to have one currency, to have one world order to make sh*t easier for them. These things are dangerous and catastrophic for millions of people, some of these decisions that these rich people make. But when you start adding a boogieman, 'Oooh, mysterious, secret society' aspect to it, you really distract it from the real issue and you're not giving enough props and credit to how dangerous and how evil some of this sh*t really is."
